Swell Trip

I just took a wonderful trip to the San Rafael Swell area called "the Wedge." It was so much fun. It was just me and 3 other girls. We camped about 20 feet from the edge of a cliff. The first night we hiked up to a knob that stuck out in this "little Grand Canyon" and watched the sun set. After eating tinfoil dinners and banana boats we went to bed.
The next morning was great. We woke up just before the sun, then went out to the cliff's edge made hot chocolate and oatmeal, watched the sun rise, then did some yoga. We then packed up camp and drove down through the swell and got to see some awesome pectograph and pictographs made by the Freemont Indian tribe about 2000 years ago.
We then made our way past some very nice outlooks and into Devil's canyon for a splendid hike. We never made it inside Devil's Canyon, but instead made our own hike along the top of it and into a fun little slot canyon we found. There was no name for it, so we decided to call it JannaAnneAndAnnaDa C.C. Canyon after all the members of the group.
It was tons of fun trying to shimmy up and through it's narrow canyon walls. After our romp around the area and stepping off two cacti plants (not a very comfortable things when you have sandals on and have to pluck out all the "pokies"). But no worries, they came out, and we went on. This had to be one of the most fun camping trips I have ever been on!
