Germany and the Czech Republic
So, here are the long awaited pictures of my trip to Germany and the Czech Republic this summer. The pictue above and on the left was taken at Rothenburg. It is an adorable midievil town that is very well preserved and is just AMAZING to walk around in. The picture on the right was taken while my mom was napping in the passanger seat of the car. I had just driven completely under this caslte and wanted a to get a shot. Since mi madre was slumbering I had to do something fast. I pulled out the camera, rolled down the window and tried to get the castle to fit in the rear view mirror. Not bad considering I was going about 40 mph. I want to go back to Germany and bike the romantic road from Rothenberg to Fussen. It is so beautiful! Ancient villages, castles, and cathedrals are plastered all throughout the countryside. There are such wonderful deep green fields and hills, and the forrests are so thick that the only way you can penetrate their walls is to enter into the darkness; you can't see what's in them form the road.
Another one of my favorite spots was in Bavari on the Austrian border right by the Alps. I got to see Ludwig's fairytale castle, Neuschwanstein. It's location was picturesque, perched up on a hill top overlooking a lake and farming community on one side and two lakes and the Alps on the other (as depicted in the picture on the right). Just over the Alps to the East is another mountain-town where my parents and I stayed the night and got to see a free community symphony with the locals dressed up in traditional German clothing (with leiderhosen and all). There were all sorts of hiking trails that lead up the moutains that would take you days to follow all the way. Another dream of mine to is go back and follow those trails and just enjoy the scenery. To me the mountains are just as sacred as the temple.

This last picture was taken in Prague. At the tip of Wenseslas Square is the national museum with this fountain out front. The Czech Republic was the one place I wanted to see the most, and have dreamed about going to all my life, but it was the most dissapointing part of the trip. It was really dirty and noisy. I was only there one day though, so maybe I need to go back and give it a couple of days.
